Activity Description
Participation in the PCI Bleeding Campaign which is a national quality improvement program that provides infrastructure for a learning network and offers evidence-based resources and tools to reduce avoidable bleeding associated with patients who receive a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
The program uses a patient-centered and team-based approach, leveraging evidence-based best practices to improve care for PCI patients by implementing quality improvement strategies:
- Radial-artery access,
- Bivalirudin, and
- Use of vascular closure devices.
Objective
Participate in the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) Bleed Campaign to reduce avoidable bleeding associated with patients who receive a PCI.
Suggested Documentation
Documented participation in the PCI Bleed Campaign quality improvement initiative. Include both of the following elements:
1) Confirmed participation – Documentation of participation in the PCI Bleed Campaign (e.g., welcome email, listed on website); AND
2) Implemented or planned adoption of strategies – Documentation of implemented or plan for implementing evidence-based strategies to improve care for PCI patients including: a) radial-artery access; b) bivalidruin; and c) use of vascular closure devices.
