CMS Participation Look-up Tool

Clinicians can enter their individual National Provider Identifier on the CMS MIPS eligibility look-up tool to determine if they are required to report for the 2018 MIPS performance year.  For clinicians with multiple Tax Identification Numbers (TINs), the tool determines whether or not they must participate in 2018 MIPS under each of those TINs.  The tool also displays a provider's hospital-based, patient-facing and small practice status.  Click the link below to check your status now:

Do you have multiple providers in your practice and don’t want to look up each NPI in your TIN?  CMS also allows you to check your group’s 2018 eligibility for each clinician in your practice by following the steps below:

  • Log in to the Quality Payment Program website (QPP) using your Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) credentials: https://qpp.cms.gov/login
  • Browse to the taxpayer identification number affiliated with your group
  • Click into a details screen to see the eligibility status of every clinician based on their NPI
